📢 Humberside Fire and Rescue Service - Council Tax Precept Decision for 2026/27 |
Dear Resident
At February’s Humberside Fire Authority meeting, Members agreed to Option 2 from the public consultation on the Council Tax Precept for 2026/27, a 4.85% increase (£4.99 for a Band D property). This is the portion that goes directly to your local fire and rescue service. Your feedback played an important role in informing the decision, especially in light of changes to government funding following the introduction of the Fair Funding Formula. We received over 1,500 responses and Option 2 was the most selected choice, with many people highlighting the importance of: 🔥 Maintaining emergency response 🛡️ Investing in prevention and education 📈 Supporting the Service to plan for the future Even with the increase, the Service will still need to use £3.5 million from its reserves and identify around £2.4 million in savings over the next three years to balance the budget. Thank you to everyone who shared their views. Your voice matters and continues to shape the future of your Fire and Rescue Service. | ||
